I used Tin Eye ([link]) to find it. I think their db of online images is pretty small but seems pretty effective for what they have so far. I found numerous copies of my "Oaks in Fog" image on Russian sites as well as a modified version used as an album cover ([link]). Still trying to figure out how I contact the band. I also found a copy of another image on a DA account and had it removed. At least there I have some immediate recourse. Unfortunately, with Tin Eye, you still have to search for each image one at a time.
Thanks, that's a really nice resource. Good luck with that band... that's always something I've worried about with dA. I'm starting to watermark now also.
In addition to watermarking I'm also adding metadata and copyright registration to my workflow. This is all things I've been looking into but have been trying to find best practices and efficient workflows. I guess now it's definitely a priority.
Yes, quite frustrating. I really hate watermarks in images but I don't see any other way of ensuring some identification stays with the image once it's online.
I'm planning to edit each one individually (the only way) by uploading a revised version with a watermark. Hopefully, this won't disturb any of the comments or other stats.
